The UNESCO-listed Mediterranean Diet in a Special Website
The Mediterranean Diet is more than just a list of ingredients or a menu of meals. It encompasses the whole range of knowledge, skills and traditions which represent Mediterranean cultural life. That is why it was included in the UNESCO list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013.
Now there is a website dedicated to the diet, presenting the features particular to the seven countries which were chosen as representative for the UNESCO listing: Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Portugal and Spain. They have joined forces to produce the website, where you can find out all about good practices, promotional activities, conservation and education, as well as recipes, events and news relating to the Mediterranean Diet on this link: https://mediterraneandietunesco.org/ where you can also sign up for the site’s newsletter.
