Monade

Monade is the place to discover the local art scene, find carefully selected eco-friendly products, enjoy homemade lemonades, iced teas, specialty coffee and drinks. In addition, it is the home of the contemporary art festival – Jelsa Art Biennial which is showcasing works of numerous Croatian and international artists during the summer 2023. The space is located in the old town center. In terms of usage, it historically functioned as a food storage, and later as wine making and storage space.

Due to its primary function (cooling, drying), the space is buried practically below sea level and located in the “Kala” (in dialect “Kola”) – a street in the grid of a Mediterranean city, placed favourably in relation to the direction of the winds. Thus, Monade are providing refreshing micro-climate even in hottest days.

May / June: Mon-Sat 9-13 am / 18-22 pm

July / Sept: Mon-Sun 9-14 am / 19-01 pm
