St. Mary Magdalene’s Feast

The feast day of Svirče’s patron saint, Mary Magdalene, falls on July 22nd, in the height of the summer. As with all the celebrations of village patron saints on Hvar, there is a con-celebrated mass in the morning, followed by a festive lunch, and then in the evening there is music and entertainment for locals and guests in Svirče’s central square. Everyone is welcome to join in the celebrations, invitations are not needed and are never issued on these occasions.
