The Museum of the Municipality of Jelsa starts the new museum summer with the opening of the exhibition on June 9, 2023. at 8p.m. with Japanese graphics by Yoshikatsu Tamekane. The exhibition is about one of the leading representatives of new Japanese graphics, which he creates in a strong dialogue with the existing tradition of this distant country.
In the days after the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Tamekane will hold two presentations and workshops of traditional Japanese woodcarving (June 10 and June 12) for all interested parties in our Kravata gallery, where attendees will learn about this technique and try their hand at carving their own wooden matrix. and making a woodcut print using a wooden board, Japanese paper and black sumi ink. To participate in the workshops, you need to register in advance. The exhibition is open until June 27, 2023.
