Sunflower Award for Rural Tourism – Terra Archaica, Vrisnik

At the prestigious “Sunflower Award for Rural Tourism 2024” ceremony held on January 17 in Vukovar, the Split-Dalmatia County won an impressive five awards and two special recognitions, once again highlighting the exceptional quality and innovation of projects from the region.

The family farm Terra Archaica from Vrisnik stood out by winning the Golden Charter in the category of Rural Tourism Projects. This unique estate on Croatia’s sunniest island tells the story of life as it once was in Dalmatia. The Damjanić family lovingly preserves their heritage, offering visitors authentic gastronomic and cultural experiences, along with accommodation and tailor-made arrangements. Terra Arhaica is a true ambassador of sustainable development, tradition preservation, and the promotion of local culture.

Other awards for the county include recognitions for the Christmas Village in Gornji Dolac, the Fisheries Interpretation Center “Kuća od 5 Dolori,” the s778 Heritage distillery, and Agro-tourism Išo. Special recognitions were awarded to the Tvrdić family farm for their project “Give Bees a Chance” and the interpretive walk “The Story of Heroine Mila.”

The “Sunflower Award for Rural Tourism” celebrates excellence and innovation in rural tourism, encouraging sustainable development and the preservation of cultural and natural heritage. This year, an impressive 181 projects from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were submitted, making these achievements even more significant.
