Excursion to Šćedro

Excursion: Šćedro Islet

The island of Šćedro is located along the southern coast of Hvar and is protected as a nature park.

The island is almost uninhabited which makes it an ideal island to escape from the summer crowds. It is special because there is no electricity and water, but water tanks and solar electricity are used.

A trip to the island of Šćedro is the perfect place to find peace and relaxation. Picturesque island with crystal clear sea and beautiful beaches. Only half an hour by boat from Zavala you arrive in

Porat bay. A beautiful bay that is protected from the winds known as a favorite place for boaters. The island is intertwined with a multitude of hiking trails that will always lead you to some new hidden cove.

Walking through an island full of Mediterranean vegetation, you can stop at the remains of a Dominican monastery built in the late 15th century.

From the Dominican monastery, the road leads to the beach Manastir (Mostir), which the bay got its name.

With plenty of sun, sea, beach on the island offers a unique gastronomic experience in three restaurants.

Under normal conditions in the summer season, a taxi-boat from Zavala to the island of Šćedro departs every day at 10am and 11am, and return to Zavala at 5pm and 6pm.
