The international veteran basketball tournament “Adriatic Cup”
The international veteran basketball tournament “Adriatic Cup” will be held in Jelsa for the first time this year, from September 10 to 12, bringing together veteran teams from across the region and Europe. After five successful editions organized in Split, the tournament organizer, UKV Adriatic Split, has decided to move this unique sporting event to the island of Hvar, in the heart of Dalmatia.
During these three days, Jelsa will become a center of veteran basketball, sportsmanship, and international friendship. This year’s edition will host as many as 21 teams from four different countries, with a large number of players, family members, and supporters expected to attend, further enriching the vibrant September atmosphere of the town.
Over the years, the “Adriatic Cup” has grown into much more than just a sports competition – it is an event that connects generations of athletes, promotes an active lifestyle, and celebrates friendships built on and off the basketball court. The organizers emphasize that Jelsa, with its sporting tradition, hospitality, and Mediterranean charm, is the perfect destination for this new chapter of the tournament.
In addition to exciting games and competitive spirit, visitors can also look forward to a rich social program, gatherings among participants, and the promotion of local gastronomy and the tourist offer of the island of Hvar.
The arrival of the “Adriatic Cup” represents an important sporting and tourism event for Jelsa, which will welcome numerous basketball enthusiasts in early September and once again confirm its status as one of the Adriatic’s most attractive island destinations for sporting events.
