Three seasons – Ivona Biočić Mandić
Ivana Biočić Mandić, a sculptor and painter based in Zagreb, with her roots in Kaštel Sućurac and a childhood spent in Jelsa, holds them close to her heart. This duality between her residence and her origins, which always pull her back to her native Dalmatian region, is a perpetual inspiration for this artist.
Cultural heritage and surroundings serve as her inspiration. The cycle THREE SEASONS brings forth colorfully expressive paintings and tactile sculptures depicting streets, landscapes, and music, with spring, summer, and winter emerging as key seasonal themes. The exhibition “THREE SEASONS” will be displayed from July 30th to August 12th in the Main Hall of the Municipality of Jelsa.
Through her synthesis and stylization, the artist takes us back to the past, reminiscent of the artistic solutions of Gauguin and Cézanne in her own characteristic way.
