Hunting Season 2026-2027

Each year during the winter hunting season, avoid walking in the woodlands, wilds and fields on Sundays and Wednesdays, also some Saturdays. Officially the hunts last from 07:00 to 14:00 on hunting days.

Much of Hvar is hunting ground during the season, as there are hunting groups in most of the island’s settlements. Each hunting group is assigned a hunting area around their location and the hunt begins and ends there.

In accordance with the group’s Statute, the ‘Hvar’ Hunting Association defined the official hunting dates for 2026 to 2027 at a meeting held on April 26th 2026.

Sunday is the main hunting day throughout the season, plus some Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Hunts last from 7 am to 2 pm on the following dates:

• Fallow deer – 16/09/2026 – 15/02/2027
• Roe deer (male) 16/04/2026 – 30/09/2026
• Roe deer (female) – 01/09/2026 – 31/01/2027
• Woodcock – 01/10/2026 – 28/02/2027 – 3 birds per hunting day
• Pigeon – 01/10/2026 – 31/01/2027 – 3 birds per hunting day
• Edible dormouse – 01/10/2026 – 30/11/2026
• Quail – 21/08/2026 – 30/11/2026 – 10 birds per hunting day
• Rabbit / Pheasant – 18/10/2026 – 13/01/2027 (Wednesdays from 25/11/2026): Rabbit/ pheasant hunting days: 18/10, 25/10; 01/11, 03/11, 08/11, 15/11, 22/11, 29/11; 02/12, 06/12, 09/12, 13/12, 16/12, 20/12, 23/12, 27/12, 30/12/2026
• Wild Boar – 27/09/2026 – 31/01/2027 Wild Boar hunting is on Sundays from 27/09/2026 to 11/10/2026, and from 17/10/2026, to 31/01/2027; on Saturdays from 17/10/2026 to 09/01/2027.
