The local voluntary group called the "Carnival Association" (Udruga„Karnevol) has worked with children for many years, creating fun activities and shows to bring happy smiles to their faces.

In the summer, this non-profit association  organizes superb programmes for children. It is also active during the winter running children's dance programmes. It is particularly active in the run-up to Lent, organizing the traditional Carnival pre-Lenten masked ball, as well as the Shrove Tuesday school-children's fancy-dress parades. On Shrove Tuesday there is also the ceremony of sacrificing 'Jure Karnevol' (a light-hearted equivalent on the lines of Guy Fawkes in the UK), at the end of a usually biting and highly amusing satirical stage-play based on recent local and national politics and events.
